I want to state clearly that tresspassing in cemetaries and abandoned buildings is NOT paranormal investigating. Even if you "know all the cops " in the area and are "sure you wont get caught". These kind of amatueristic moves do nothing to help legitamize the field. Groups that list these locations as investigation sights are putting themselves in jeopardy. Not only is this practice dangerous, it's illegal.

wasn't a girl shot while trespassing in an abandoned home a few years back.

As far as going into cemeteries or anything, I would suggest to always obey the laws. Cemeteries frequently have their hours posted. And I pretty confident in the prevailing belief that EVP and photographic anomalies are just as likely to show up during business hours.

I was thinking more about places that you can have legal access to, like the Mansfield Reformatory, who host ghost hunts on a fairly regular basis, or The Waverly Hills Sanitorium or Eastern State Penitentiary.

A girl was shot in Columbus while ghost hunting with her friends. I'm not sure if this is the story you are referring to. The house was a popular "ghost story" in the area.

This was a big story a couple of years ago and I was certain it would lead to some laws to limit what we do. The guy went to jail and the girl is alive but suffers from permanent learning disabilities from the incident.

This is a touching story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaT2dHXRjGA
